RHODIUM

Rhodium is a precious, white metal belonging to the Platinum Group of Metals. It does not oxidize or tarnish, is hardy and strong, and has a very high melting point. It is one of the hardest metals among the Platinum Group.

In addition to this hardiness, it is also very resistant to corrosion, making it an excellent choice for industries and environments where there is constant exposure to corrosive gases. It has a longer life cycle than gold as it can reliably operate in an environment beyond 537.78 degrees Celsius.

Being an extremely bright metal, it is also highly attractive. As a result, rhodium is also a popular choice for jewelry. It is often used as plating in white gold alloys, and to set off precious gems and stones.

Rhodium’s high tolerance to temperature also makes it ideal for high voltage/amperage electrical contacts, as it does not easily oxidise, even under such extreme conditions.

Rhodium is recommended for its:
  • Corrosion resistance
  • High Tolerance in Extreme Temperatures/Conditions
  • Hardiness and Strength
  • Attractive and Decorative Appearance
  • Resistance to Oxidization
