Tin is a corrosion-resistant and ductile silver-coloured metal. It imparts solderability to other base metals that are otherwise, unsolderable. The non-carcinogenic and non-toxic characteristics of Tin and its salts make it ideal for food containers and food applications.

As Tin is fairly tarnish resistant, it is recommended as a low-cost decorative finish, although care needs to be exercised in the handling as it provides a soft finish that scratches easily. As a result, we do not recommend Tin when outdoor environments are expected.

Tin is recommended for its:
  • Solderability
  • Corrosion Resistance
  • Ability to Conduct Heat
  • Malleability
  • Excelent Lubricity
  • Non-Toxic/Non-Carcinogenic Properties
  • Decorative Appearance
